In 2025, Hubble marked 35 years since it was placed in orbit. Its position above Earth's atmosphere allows sharp observations in ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared light, while its archive contains millions of measurements.
Hubble remains an important partner to the newer James Webb Space Telescope. The observatories work in different parts of the spectrum, so their data can be combined to study stars, galaxies, and processes taking place across the distant Universe.
