What Is an ISS Transit
A transit occurs when, from a specific location, the International Space Station passes in front of the disk of the Sun or Moon. The phenomenon usually lasts only a very short time, and its visibility path is narrow, so the result always applies to a specific area and time.
Search Scope and Accuracy
Select a target, location, and date range. Results are generated from orbital data and observation geometry. The more time has passed since the orbit was updated, the greater the difference may be between the forecast and the actual course of the event.
Safe Observation
A transit across the Sun must not be observed without a certified solar filter mounted in front of the optical system. Never point unprotected eyes, binoculars, a camera, or a telescope at the Sun.
