How satellite tracking works
The tracker combines the selected object with current orbital elements and calculates its predicted position for a chosen time and observer location. The displayed values are computed predictions, not direct measurements of the satellite.
Selecting an object and observing location
Choose a satellite by name or NORAD number, then verify the observer location. Changing the location affects altitude, azimuth and the list of visible passes, but it does not alter the object's catalogue data.
Reading a pass prediction
Start, maximum and end times describe the predicted pass for the selected location. Optical visibility also depends on satellite illumination, sky brightness, weather and local obstructions.
